Dr Andrew Marriott BSc MFGDP(UK) MDS (Ortho)

Andrew Marriott worked as a dentist in the United Kingdom and in Dubai for several years where he was a dentist to the Royal Families in the area. He is a registered specialist orthodontist with the Dental Council of New Zealand. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has a geography degree and his specialist area of research is the supply and demand of orthodontic treatment in New Zealand. This combines elements of social geography and orthodontics.

Andrew enjoys the outdoors, having tramped most of the well known tracks in New Zealand. He is also an experienced multisport athlete having competed in the New Zealand and Scottish Coast to Coast Events.
Andrew is interested on contemporary music, particularly New Zealand music.

Andrew is on several committees of the NZAO which deal with auxiliary training and research.

Dr Andrew Lush BDS, MDS (Ortho) FRACDS

Andrew Lush has worked as a dental house surgeon at Auckland Hospital and in private dental practices in Auckland and England before doing his MDS degree in Orthodontics at Otago. He is a registered specialist with the Dental Council of New Zealand and also has a fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Andrew has been a past secretary of the Nelson Branch of the NZ Dental Association and is currently secretary of the NZ Association of Orthodontists.

When he isn't practicing orthodontics, he would choose to be out mountain biking or windsurfing.

Louise Freeman

Louise was the first auxiliary in New Zealand to gain the full United States Orthodontic Auxiliary Qualification. She is also a trained and qualified Dental Assistant. Louise is registered as an Orthodontic Auxiliary with the Dental Council of New Zealand.

Marilyn Davis

Marilyn is a trained Dental Therapist. She has many years of experience as a dental therapist and orthodontic auxiliary. Marilyn is a registered orthodontic auxiliary with the Dental Council of New Zealand.

Paula Palmer

Paula is trained as both a dental therapist and dental hygienist. She is registered as a hygienist by the Dental Council of New Zealand.

Paula is a trained Dental Therapist. She attained further qualifications in Dental Hygiene in 1992, Paula has worked in the Dental hygiene field for several years in private practices in the Nelson district. The monitoring of oral hygiene and education of patients is important in a team approach before, during and after orthodontic treatment. Paula plays an important part in our "team" approach to orthodontic treatment.

Felicity Hart

Felicity has a diploma in Dental Technology and is a qualified Dental Assistant. She is registered as both a Dental Technician and as a Dental Assistant. Felicity has her own Dental Laboratory based in Motueka and visits us every Tuesday to provide one on one professional service.

Jane Martin

Jane job shares the Practice Managers position with Sonia Malpas. Jane has previously worked for finance companies and accountants. She holds a Hotel Management diploma from CIT.

Sonia Malpas

Sonia job shares the Practice Managers position with Jane Martin. She has a Physical Education degree from Otago and a certificate in Travel & Tourism from London. She has extensive work experience in both the Sports & Fitness and the Travel & Tourism industries.

Debbie Watson

Debbie is our other receptionist. Debbie comes from a background in the hospitality industry. She holds a business management certificate from QIT.

Johanna Hasler

Johanna has recently joined our team. She is a trained and very experienced receptionist and has worked for a variety of organisations.

Marliyn Walter

Marliyn trained as a dental assistant in California. She has more that 5 years experience in the orthodontic field. She is also a primary school teacher and works part time as a special needs teacher.

Julie Croad

Julie was a chairside assistant and receptionist to a Blenheim dentist from 1990 to 1995. She has since relieved for various Blenheim dentists and now works permanently for Andrew Lush in Blenheim every fortnight for 2 days per week.

Marchella Helsby

Marchella is working as an Orthodontist Assistant for Andrew Lush. She previously was studying nursing and was a caregiver for the disabled.

Coralie Nankivell

Coralie job shares with Johanna. She comes to us with previous front office experience together with back office administration in sales and marketing. Coralie also works part-time in the local pip fruit industry.

Johanna Hasler

Johanna is one of two part-time receptionists. She job shares with Coralie. Johanna is a trained and very experienced receptionist and has worked for a variety of organisations.

Kim Balcombe

Kim has worked as a dental assistant/receptionist at Seymour Dental Centre for 8 years. She previously attended Polytechnic and holds a National Cetrificate in Business Administration.
